The Diploma in insurance is a technical and supervisory qualification for insurance staff working across all sectors of the industry.

The Diploma will provide you with a firm understanding of insurance fundamentals and will develop advanced technical knowledge. This prestigious qualification is highly respected by insurance professionals.

To complete the Diploma you must obtain a minimum of 120 CII credits, with at least 90 credits at Diploma level, including the two compulsory units M05 (Insurance Law) and M92 (Insurance business and finance) plus any other two units from the options detailed below.

It is the natural progression route for anyone who has achieved their Cert CII, and wishes to continue with their development in becoming a true professional within the industry.

  • Complexity
The topics are far more complex than the Certificate in Insurance (Cert. CII) and represent a significant leap in difficulty.
  • Exam technique
All Diploma units are assessed either through a written exam (‘P’ units) or a combination of a coursework assignment and a multiple choice question exam (‘M’ units)
  • Motivation and Structure
Self-study can be very isolating without support and it can be difficult to organise learning for such large volumes of information.
